MediaInfo Mac is a multimedia file analyzer. By using the amazing MediaInfo Library by Jerome Martinez, it will tell you every detail about codecs, settings, profiles and containers used for almost any audio or video file.
MISHA The best Mac utility for extracting this sort of info from media files. There are still better utilities like this for Windows, but that's really irrelevant to us: we're Mac users! Thanks for making this. (Version 0.7.7.52)
DIEGO MASSANTI The service and contextual menu item are ONLY for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or newer, i forgot to clarify that on the app description, i have submitted an updated description to MU which fixes this confussion, sorry about it.
Diego. (Version 0.7.17.5)

PIPKATO Just to report that I have Snow Leopard installed but don't get the Services option for MediaInfo or the Contextual Menu on movie files. I did try rebooting my Mac but it didn't help. (Version 0.7.17.6)

MARCP Thanks for this app, it is very useful AND fast.
Questions :
1- you say that 0.7.17.5 adds contextual menu and system wide service but I can't see them (yes I've restarted)
2- with a ProRes file, the codec's name given by mediainfo is apcs. Do you know why?
sorry to ask fo support here, but there is no way to do it otherwise... (Version 0.7.17.5)
MDEWAKANTON No luck on Tiger 10.4.11 PPC: "you can't use this app with this system's version" or something similar in my language. Trashed .plist but to no avail. Anyone else? (Version 0.7.17)
ANONYMOUS Feel free to contact me at massanti@mac.com (via AIM). I dont have any mac running Tiger, so some people willing to help testing the app on Tiger is welcome. (Version 0.7.17)

TREADMAN If you are having trouble with it in OS X 10.4.11, try trashing the preferences. Worked for me. (Version 0.7.7.58)
